Annex to the Hōnanchō Dermatology Clinic (completed in 2015). Within a modest floor area of approximately 66 square meters (about 20 tsubo), which cannot be considered spacious for a tenant clinic, meticulous attention was devoted to patient movement and sightlines, efficient workflows for doctors and staff, logistics and storage, custom millwork, communication and broadcasting equipment, as well as HVAC and lighting design. This clinic was planned collaboratively with the doctor over an extended period. In terms of interior design, materials that convey the warmth of wood to the touch were employed, and the doctor’s preferred colors and patterns were reflected throughout. This approach avoided the typical sterile, function- and efficiency-driven atmosphere common in clinics, aiming instead to create a comfortable, home-like environment.
