This is a new-build project for rental multi-unit housing intended for single occupants, planned by a young, recently established construction firm to be built and owned by the company itself as a venture conceived from various motivations. Although the project is, in the conventional sense, an income-generating property, the client questioned the idea of erecting a soulless building that prioritizes profit and yield alone.
Naturally, the project must be financially viable as a business, but the client identified the following significances for this undertaking:
- to construct something that the owner-builder himself can regard as good;
- to realize a completed example that demonstrates the company's construction capabilities;
- to produce a case study that uncovers and appeals to prospective clients who value design and workmanship.
