This project is a group home for individuals with intellectual disabilities combined with shared senior housing, located within Osaka City. The design aims to enrich both the communal public spaces where residents live together and the private spaces that allow for personalized living, all from a user-centered perspective.
A key planning strategy involves arranging five private rooms so that none are adjacent to each other, surrounding a shared living, dining, and kitchen (LDK) area. Private terraces are provided between the individual rooms, enabling direct access to fresh air from each room and softly illuminating the LDK with natural light.
In response to an aging user population, the senior housing located on the upper floors proposes a new residential model that can also accommodate the parents of the residents, offering a socially innovative approach to multi-generational living.
