The homeowners desired a relatively compact residence for a couple. The site is located near the suburban urban area, adjacent to a parking lot and other properties. The design was developed with consideration for privacy and noise, resulting in a single-story house featuring a triangular roof as an accent in the final proposal. The central living-dining-kitchen (LDK) area has a high ceiling following the roof slope, creating an open and spacious atmosphere. Within the living room, a cozy corner space with a built-in sofa featuring a lowered ceiling was incorporated to provide a relaxing retreat. Additionally, the bay window serves as a bench space, offering multiple comfortable spots within the home. From the dining area, a wide deck space and garden extend, establishing a strong connection with the outdoors. The custom-designed kitchen integrates a functional flow to the pantry and washroom, complemented by a small Japanese-style room and bedroom arranged in a layout that promotes smooth circulation. This simple single-story house embodies warmth and gentleness, perfectly suited to the homeowners.
