Occupant comfort is ensured by insulation packed behind the metal siding.
A household work corner located at the junction of the kitchen, wet areas, and roof terrace.

This house is built on a very narrow frontage lot in a traditional downtown neighborhood. Under strict site constraints, vertical movement between floors was treated not as a limitation but as a means to enjoy a variety of spatial characters. Within a single volume we created six ‚‘-shaped floor plates and stacked them with half-level offsets to produce skip-floor conditions in both the long and short directions, planning a residence where occupants move like birds hopping from branch to branch.
To maximize use of the site, a 100 mm-wide steel frame was erected and metal insulated sandwich panels were installed from the inside along the property line, allowing the exterior wall depth to be kept to 50 mm. By treating the building for regulatory purposes as two above-ground floors with one basement, we were able to avoid steel cladding requirements and an emergency access opening. A roof terrace on the top floor provides outdoor space so that, while the house retains a spare, warehouse-like austerity, it is nevertheless filled with light and ventilation and does not feel oppressive.
