Tsukuba House with a Looping Circulation Plan|Archiplace
Located in Tsukuba, where established and newly developed residential areas coexist, this home responds to the family’s lifestyle and ways of working.
Separate circulation routes were provided: a guest route connecting the entrance doma to the living room, and a family-only back route leading directly from the shoe closet to the kitchen. In addition, the plan allows circulation between these two routes via the staircase and the husband’s study, enhancing both the ease of housework and the home’s overall connectivity.
The home also accommodates working from home. The husband’s study is positioned at the center of the house, bringing in soft natural light through a skylight. The wife’s workspace consists of a built-in desk in the second-floor stair hall, creating an environment where she can work while sensing the presence of her family.
A nook for reading is provided in one corner of the living room, creating a place where the view extends toward the garden on the south side. It is a home in which family members can each spend time in their own way while still feeling gently connected to one another.
