The site is located in a residential area close to the station. Being a corner lot with roads on two sides, the design process carefully considered both the building’s appearance from the street and privacy. Ultimately, rather than integrating the surrounding environment directly, the plan incorporates a courtyard within the site as a void space to bring in light, breeze, and greenery.
The first floor accommodates private rooms, storage, and wet areas, while the second floor houses the living, dining, and kitchen spaces. The ceiling structure’s rafters are left exposed, covering the roof. The residence features the client’s bespoke interior details and a home theater, creating distinct living spaces that feel comfortable and modern through their connection to the courtyard.
The growth of the Chinese ash tree planted in the courtyard and the natural aging of the ceiling rafters will be enjoyed over time, enriching the experience of living in this home.
