The living space is primarily single-story. The site, located on the Kobe hillside, offers unobstructed views from the sea to the urban area. Positioned between this landscape and the cherished vehicle, the living and dining areas are arranged to create a cohesive first-floor living environment that connects the master bedroom and functional spaces.
Natural southern light is delivered to the dining area and entrance hall on the first floor through a high-side light in the atrium where the spiral staircase is located on the north side. Due to the narrow frontage road, a setback space has been created from the street to accommodate visitors while enhancing privacy, serving as a protective design element.
Inside the sliding door of the approach, a secure front court forms a wind corridor, ensuring a spatial experience that is both enclosed and open. Use: Single-family residence
Structure and scale: Wood‑frame construction; two above‑grade storeys
Location: Higashinada Ward, Kobe, Japan
Site area: 263.08 m²
Building footprint: 119.74 m²
Total floor area (Gross floor area): 144.18 m²
Contractor: Wood One Kansai Co., Ltd.
