A Residence by the Sea Embracing a Resort Lifestyle.
The initial brief from the client was presented as a list of desired living experiences accompanied by numerous inspirational photographs. Capitalizing on the site’s proximity—just a five-minute walk to the ocean—the design embodies a lifestyle immersed in the sea and nature, fostering daily joy and mindful living.
After returning from the beach, one can walk barefoot directly through the terrace into the bathroom. Ingredients are prepped in the kitchen and grilled on the terrace barbecue. The dining room, living room, and terrace are seamlessly connected to host lively gatherings.
To realize such a lifestyle, the ground floor plan is arranged around a courtyard terrace: the entrance hall, living-dining-kitchen area, and bathroom are configured in a U-shape facing each other, each featuring expansive windows that dissolve boundaries between interior and exterior, creating an open and inviting spatial experience.
Furthermore, the client personally undertook weekend DIY projects to install the second-floor flooring, paint the walls, lay terrace tiles, and construct wooden fences. Over three months following handover, the house neared completion. With plans for ongoing modifications, this residence continues to evolve, making future visits highly anticipated.
