Introducing House in Hadano, a custom-built home example by Takayoshi Nakamura Architects & Associates, a Architect / Design office in 4-26-27 Utsukushigaoka, Aoba-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa

This home features a spacious garage and a fireplace (wood-burning stove). Because the husband was, at the time, the editor-in-chief of a cycling magazine, he owns no fewer than 12 bicycles!! (And the collection is still growing…)

This home was designed for an active couple who enjoy motorcycles, cars, mountaineering, and DIY, in addition to their professional and personal pursuits. The second floor is an open-plan living space integrated with the bedroom. With a ceiling height of 3.2 meters, it offers a distinctive sense of openness unlike that of a typical Japanese home.

The clients were my classmates in the Department of Architecture at Tama Art University. I am grateful for this joyful and rewarding connection! Structure: Two-story wooden construction
