The homeowner reminisces about the landscape from forty years ago, the mountain ridge extending toward Horyu-ji.
A rammed-earth wall, a construction method passed down since antiquity in which earth is compacted in layers, screens views from the street and becomes a framed prospect from the living room.
Surrounded by materials that will undergo slow natural aging, it is hoped the occupants will be able to spend a somewhat tranquil time here going forward. Structure: Timber construction
