Rebuilding the residence where the client had lived for many years. We conducted repeated studies to trace the family's footsteps to date and to introduce new light. A dwelling that sits close to the body, wrapped in hand-crafted Japanese materials that the country prides itself on—roof tiles, tatami, plaster, shoji, and fusuma. The aim was a familiar, forward-looking living environment created with Japanese proportions and materials.
