This is a single-story residence of 28 tsubo overlooking a clear stream flowing through a mountain village. The building is arranged in a bent L-shape to follow the curvature of the river. The concept integrates this magnificent location with the architecture, allowing residents to listen to the babbling of the stream, enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, watch fireflies, and admire autumn foliage. At the client's request, a library was incorporated within the living room, creating a small house-like reading space under the gabled roof. The exterior expresses a traditional Japanese satoyama farmhouse reinterpreted as a contemporary residence.
