A Home Among the Cherry Trees|Archiplace
This home was designed for a family of four with young children, set in a quiet, planned residential neighborhood in Tokyo. The parents and other relatives live next door, creating an environment where the family can enjoy daily life while remaining closely connected.
A key consideration in this home was bringing the beautiful row of cherry trees lining the street into everyday life. The principal living spaces are located on the second floor so that the family can enjoy the cherry trees, whose appearance changes with each season, from inside the house.
The open-plan LDK is centered around a kitchen designed according to the husband’s particular preferences, creating a space where the family can gather. Seamlessly connected to the south-facing wood-deck terrace, the home allows the family to move freely between indoors and out—not only for everyday meals, but also for enjoying barbecues with family and close friends.
This is a home where the family can nurture connections with one another and with others while living alongside a landscape lined with cherry trees.
