Situated at the southernmost edge of Minami Ward in Sakai City, the site is enveloped by a tranquil rural landscape dominated by expansive fields and farmland. The client, seeking a serene and restorative lifestyle away from the demands of a hectic daily routine, resolved to relocate here.
To harmonize with the peacefulness of the locale, the building adopts a quarter-circle ring form embracing the southwest-facing fields, intentionally integrating the surrounding landscape, the architecture, and daily living into a cohesive whole.
To safeguard this new way of life from the external environment and preserve its tranquility, the building’s outer perimeter wall is designed as a double-layered façade constructed from aged bricks intertwined with ivy, consciously reflecting the passage of time and sharing this temporal dimension with the local context.
Conversely, the inner perimeter is dedicated to fostering family enjoyment, featuring an open, inviting layout that allows residents to appreciate the adjacent fields and garden through a terrace sheltered by deep eaves. It is our hope that this sanctuary of calm and comfort will endure indefinitely.
