This two-story wooden residence is located in Yuasa, Wakayama Prefecture. It is built to envelop the adjacent one-story main house. Although the site is compact, measuring just 16 tsubo, the white walls create a distinctive presence and sense of scale, taking advantage of Wakayama’s abundant sunlight. An open wall positioned in front of the entrance acts as a device for drawing in the gentle breezes that flow along the river in front of the house in the morning and evening, creating an exceptionally comfortable interior.
