House with a Café|Archiplace
This home is for a husband whose hobby is baking, a wife who is skilled at keeping things organized, and their two daughters. The aim was to create a home that is simple and functional, yet also playful.
The first floor consists of a public zone centered on a café-like earthen-floored space that also serves as the entrance, together with a Japanese-style room, and a private zone containing the bedrooms and wet areas. The house was planned so that daily life could eventually be completed entirely on the first floor, creating a home where the family can live comfortably and securely for many years.
The second floor, with its high ceiling on the south side, contains the living, dining, and kitchen area. The central staircase and storage elements gently divide the space, while each area connects to a deck terrace, creating a comfortable continuity between indoors and out.
The third floor, arranged as a split-level floor, contains a variety of places to stay, including the couple’s study, spaces for the children, and a balcony where the family can enjoy fireworks. Making the most of the height restrictions, the house is a three-dimensional home that creates a wide range of scenes in everyday life.
Starting from the café-like earthen-floored space, the home connects the family members’ individual favorite places.
