This is a two-story wooden house located in a densely built residential area of Tokushima City. To maintain privacy from the neighboring houses, the openings are limited, with the primary daylight entering from a courtyard on the side opposite the road. The opening above the courtyard and the opening on the front facade are connected in the form of a tube, intentionally creating a wind tunnel through which air can pass. The wind tunnel narrows toward the center, generating a Venturi effect that increases the wind speed. Inside, half of the first floor is configured as a void, creating a connection to the three children’s rooms on the second floor.
Structural type and scale: Two-story wooden structure
