House in Ashiya｜Abax Architects

This is a two-story wooden residence with a basement, located in a high-end residential area of Ashiya City. To secure the view from the living and dining areas, the first floor is elevated 1.5 meters above ground level, with a basement constructed beneath. The building facing the street maintains a low eave height to avoid a sense of oppression.

Two staggered volumes are connected by a stairwell. Beyond the entrance hall, a reflecting pool is installed, and the overall design evokes the atmosphere of an Asian resort.
