Abax Architects

• The term 'Abax' refers to the square, flat section located above the cymatium at the capital of a column in Western classical architecture. The cymatium evolves stylistically over time, becoming increasingly refined and sophisticated. In contrast, the abax portion has remained relatively unchanged in form.
  
  We live in an era known as the advanced information society, constantly exposed to a flood of information. Just as objects change, human beings themselves also undergo continual transformation. The architectural world is no different, with a constant influx of diverse information every day. Naturally, we believe it is essential to maintain agility in responding to these changes. However, we also feel that there must be elements that remain constant and should not be altered.
  
  Architecture is fundamentally a low-tech discipline developed through its relationship with human life, and we wish to cherish those unchanging aspects. We are always conscious of being professionals in architecture and strive to be a responsible design collective accountable for technical quality, design, and cost in all our projects.
