Hamadayama Residence｜Naoko Matsumoto Architects & Associates

A sense of openness with views that extend toward the sky
Design measures that allow enjoyment of in-ground planting from the second floor while preserving privacy
Greenery and nature felt always close at hand
Solid American black cherry plank flooring selected with particular care by the client, and
The texture of lime plaster that softly absorbs light
The flicker of an ethanol fireplace in the living room
A raised platform workspace
While securing the basics — circulation, storage, performance, and the tactile qualities of natural materials —
This residence concentrates many carefully considered details.
