Introducing LOLO — Grand Prize, Kitchen Space Idea Design Contest, a custom-built home example by YIA Ishiue Yoshihiro Architectural Design Office, a Architect / Design office in 1572 Amagawataki-cho, Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, Japan

This residence is arranged in a looped plan enclosing a large central courtyard. Because the courtyard is bounded by double-height walls, views from the exterior are completely screened. The living and dining areas, positioned between a south-facing outer garden that emphasizes greenery and an inner courtyard connected to the interior by a deck, enable everyday life immersed in a verdant setting. A corridor encircles the courtyard, allowing occupants to perceive the passage of seasons even during routine circulation. The bathroom is adjacent to a bath court, permitting bathing in the manner of an open-air bath. The roof over the second floor includes a deck, from which fireworks can be enjoyed in summer.
