An owner's residence situated in the Shimanami area. The yakisugi (charred cedar) exterior cladding and zinc‑titanium alloy gutters are resistant to the effects of sea breezes, making them suitable for coastal locations. Four years after completion, the family is enjoying daily life with their three children.

The family's favorite space is the courtyard (deck). Because it is an enclosed space, they can safely take their eyes off the children when they want to play outside, and they often enjoy barbecues there.

There is also a small space adjacent to the kitchen back door that takes advantage of an irregular parcel of land; that area is effectively used for a pool, sand play, and other activities, allowing them to enjoy time at home. Site area: 531.49 m² / 72.97 tsubo
