K residence, located in the tranquil rural landscapes of Akaiwa City, features lime-plaster exterior walls harmonized with unglazed clay roof tiles. Although the combined living, dining and kitchen area totals only about 21 tatami in size—just the space required—the interior provides a sense of openness and a relaxed, comfortable home for a family of four. By using partitions to screen views from the exterior, the residents can live without curtains.
