House with a Wet-Engawa

A home with a wet engawa features an open wooden veranda set between the indoor living space and the garden, offering a charming way to closely experience the outdoor air and the changing seasons. This semi-outdoor space created beneath the eaves provides a modest blank space in daily life, ideal for sitting and gazing at the garden, drinking tea while feeling the breeze, or spending time with family and pets. Combined with deep eaves and plantings, it softens the summer sun while enriching the connection with the interior. This introduces a wet engawa home that gently connects the inside and outside, allowing you to enjoy time spent looking out at the garden.
