The exterior features an irimoya-style roof with a raised central section; the gable wall incorporates a motif based on the character for “water,” traditionally used as a fire-prevention symbol.

Bamboo quarter-sawn strips incorporated into the fittings visually and spatially link the corridor with the living-dining-kitchen area.

Washi paper was applied alternately to the four shoji panels so that each side would present a finished face toward both the living room and dining room.

Upon entering the entrance, one is greeted by a view of lush greenery. The outlook is exceptionally scenic.
