By finishing the ante-room floor of the tatami room with tatami, it invites a sensibility appropriate to the washitsu (Japanese-style room).

The exterior features an irimoya-style roof with a raised central section; the gable wall incorporates a motif based on the character for “water,” traditionally used as a fire-prevention symbol.

Entrance hall featuring walls and ceiling clad in lauan plywood. We appreciate this economical material for its distinctive character.

The wide veranda was incorporated into the living room. The glass doors with a frosted pattern lead to the main entrance.

A fully opening glass door was also installed between the entrance’s earthen-floored area and the outside, creating a double-door arrangement to prevent the cats from escaping.

Washroom and bath that enjoy views of the woodland; walls are finished with subway tile.

The central room is fitted with sliding doors that can be fully opened.
